Autocratic leadership, also known as authoritarian leadership, is a type of management style that is used when a leader dictates policies and procedures, decides what goals should be achieved, and directs and controls all activities without any meaningful participation by the subordinates. The autocratic leader has full control of the team, with low autonomy within the group. These leaders typically make decisions based on their ideas and judgments, seldom taking advice from other individuals. Like any other leadership style, the autocratic style of leadership has its pros and cons.
